Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station is located at the exit of the canyon between Yibin County, Sichuan Province and Shuifu County, Yunnan Province. It is the last cascade hydropower station in the lower reaches of Jinsha River. The development task of Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station is mainly to generate electricity, improve the navigation conditions of upstream and downstream, give consideration to irrigation, combine with flood control and sediment interception, and have the comprehensive function of inverse adjustment and teaching for upstream cascade hydropower stations.

7 units of M1500, M900, 3 C7050 and 2 C7022 of Sichuan tower crane are involved in the construction. It is mainly used for concrete pouring of ship lift section, 380 section and dam body, taking into account the operation of steel bar and formwork hoisting.

The M1500 Tower Crane completed the structural installation in November 2011 and put it into operation. The total weight of the tower crane is about 650 tons, the maximum rated lifting weight is 65 tons, which reaches the lifting weight of the port crane. It is one of the few super large horizontal arm tower cranes in China, and has created the largest lifting weight of the tower crane in Xiangjiaba construction site. Because the horizontal arm tower crane is more efficient and covers a larger area than the super-large arm tower crane, it greatly improves the speed of concrete pouring into the warehouse of the ship lift benchmark section.

At present, all tower cranes built in Sichuan are in good condition and play an important role in the construction of Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station.
